Timelords, Essential Dignities and Black Luminaries
The Month of August!
Hello to all cosmic ones!
August is here, and so is the Lion’s Gate hype, and this time with eclipses.
I joked the other day about how so many “portals” circulate, especially around eclipses, it’s a wonder we’re all still here. Portal or not, eclipses are powerful times of reset and change, when the eclipse Dragon confronts us to pass through its cosmic gate, to face something, or sit in stillness and let the storm pass.
This time, the eclipse falls at 20° Leo, the first in the series for a Metonic cycle at this degree, and part of Solar Saros Cycle 126, a Saros dragon series that began in 1179 over the southern pole at 26° Pisces. It will end after 68 eclipses in 2387 at 29° Pisces at the northern pole. I always love watching the animation of the eclipse Dragon, as it gives us a sense of this great celestial dragon flying above us across vast spans of time. Below from Wikipedia.
It reminds me that a dragon must always be able to fly, and that the nodal axis is where we are challenged to find a sacred balance between what has been and what is yet to come, otherwise we may crash and burn. The Dragon’s Head and the Dragon’s Tail, the North and South Node, the ancient symbols of the eternal cycle of renewal, the Ouroboros, is a most powerful symbol to be conscious of at solar eclipse time, as we rebalance our lives.
This time we are balancing the Leo–Aquarius axis, inviting us to find equilibrium between heart and our fast paced minds, the personal and the collective, creative self-expression and our shared vision for our future. Wherever 20° Leo is for you, it will be activating the next creative leap or reignite that dormant spark.

August 17 carries the month's real pile-up and is getting none of the attention. Three aspects go exact inside six hours and twenty three minutes that day: Mars square Neptune at 09:52 UTC, Mercury trine Saturn at 15:27, Venus sextile Jupiter at 16:15. None of them is loud on its own, which is rather the point, but nothing else in August comes close to that density, and it falls five days past the eclipse while everything is still being read as aftermath.
